Special Edition - Wedding

December is a month full of activities to smile, cheer and be thankful for. Soon after Christmas was my cousin Johnson and Ames' uncle's wedding. This wedding is very special to me especially as it going to be Ames first madien trip out of Singapore and of course, my very nice relatives' first wedding in the household. Not to mention, it's going to be held in my grandparents' home which is full of my childhood memories when I was a young kid. I can't wait to take pictures of Ames in my playground.

Initially Ames was supposed to be grounded in Singapore with his paternal grandparents as it may be troublesome to have a little one tag along for the occasion. But eventually our dear kiddo get to enjoy over the weekend.

Ames was scooped out of bed early in the morning as a willing party. Although he woke up feeling that it's early, 5am and he went along with us obediently.

These are some nostalgic shots that we took almost 30 years ago. Same spot!

Ames' maiden passort chop
Loads of fun with many cousins

Surrounded with girls. Ames was sure a hotie with the ladies in pink.

Hide and seek is always Ames' favourite game

Abit of the "sum seng" character in him.

Can you mix and match?

It was a great Christmas weekend for Ames. Now he is looking forward for the New Year Celebrations. Any ideas for us?

Our Family

Wishing everyone Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all.

May peace, love and harmony be in your family and friends.

See you all very soon!

Christmas Day 25th December 2008 (Thursday)

Earlier on, we mentioned that we broke the Number One Rule of Christmas, because we had substantial reasons to do so. To be Santa Helper on Christmas Day! Ames need to learn how to drive the new car (",)
There's no chimmney that we can slide down and say "Ho Ho Ho" but we can use car in Singapore. Hence Ames has to practise with the new gift before taking the role of Santa Helper. Ames getting confidence to sit on the seat. Also, the responsible driver checking out his car in good condition before setting off. He is not even thinking of using the reindeer that is waiting in the background.
All Set to Go!!!

Isn't this picture adorable? Either he likes the present mummy give to him or not. I got for Ames 26 books! All are tiny book in alphabet order. Now, I have to count 26 before keeping them away. Little trouble that I brought to myself too. Ames is now fond of throwing things around.

Getting prepare to throw the first letter down.

" Ho Ho Ho" ...Merry Christmas to you all and your family!

Christmas Presents

Rule Number One: Open presents only on boxing day.
For the very first Christmas, we have already broken the rule number one. We cannot hold our anticipation but to open one big present on the eve of Christmas. Well, there are many justifications to break this rule as Ames need to practice on the gift before working hard on Christmas.
We were just as excited as Ames trying to figure out this new transportation toy. There are many music sounds if you touch the buttons. And the best, the propeller can actually turn and light up like the Ferris Wheel!
And the new car comes with shapes sorter that "blick" "blick" if you have the right shape in the missing gap. Here's the young one, prying through the unopen but unwrapped gift. Thanks.

Little Santa Helper.

Today is Ames' very first Christmas celebrations. There are many broken rules as well as many new breaking ground play. We got this cute Santa outfit from a gift from Aden's mum, Athena. Luckily Ames is still able to fit into this suit else if it's next month, it will be an exploded Santa or a fei fei Santa with open buttons.

We added a slight twist to Santa fashion. A Paul Frank beanie can also complete litte Santa's helper look, right.

playing on my own

Remember previously when I mentioned "separation anxiety", I think it has been starting to wean off since Ames started playing on his own. Though at times after playing on his own for sometime, he will start to look for us. Still, I cannot take it for granted that I can just leave him on his own.

We tried recycling the toys once again. Notice the blocks are back in fashion again?

Naughty times

Some shots of Ames being frustrated, or should it be us being angry? What can a kid be frustrated when he is well-fed and also kept clean?

Food snatcher

Double Lunch

Today will be posting the naughty shots of Ames. Everyone is always commenting about his good behavour. But lo & behold, Ames' aint the good fella you are thinking of. Here he is, after his own lunch, trying to get some food from Angela. And the thing is, we are guests in their house but this little guy was storming towards Angela for her noodles.

Angeline's baptism day 21st Dec 2008

We were invited to witness Angeline's baptism in her church today. It was such a nice feeling to see her after the baptism. Really nice to be part of the special day. During the service, Ame was trying not to make too much noise until the sermon part. I think he started to want to break the long silence while the pastor was sharing God's words. Ames started to chuckle, whine and also played his "wo-wo-wo-wo" tune with his hand and mouth. Got to sneak out several times to save the embarassment situations.

Here's Ames with Angeline, holding onto the newborncertificate. We have one more day in the year to celebrate another birthday...The baptist day :)

New way of having Pacifier

Previously the pacificers are like 5-sec thing for Ames. But recently maybe because of the teething, he started to show interest in pacificers. But between his fingers and pacificer, he still like the finger liking good fingers. Anyway, he picked up his own pacificers which was still in the cup and tried to suck it. Thought this is a funny shot of him!
Besides, this pacificer is not for him anymore. It is a size 1, for 3months old babies which is a very small teat.

New lookout point

This little guy is full of curiousity and most important, guts. Maybe we are also trying to train him to overcome the fear of heights. Not that we lived very high, at leas Ames is appreciating the view that we have over at our balcony.
Can anyone guess what he is trying to look?

Legs muscles not that strong yet. Still need to take a break.

Full of expressions on face. For what reasons?

Ames' jammies

We love to put Ames in this strippy PJs suit. It is quite tight fitting and showed how snug he fit into the PJs. Best of all, the stripes add more delight in the appearance. And this sailor PJs was when Ames was only 2months old. Til today, I still secretly open the "Ames' outgrown clothes" box and gently cuddle each piece that he has outgrown.
Now 9 mths plus, we are shifting him to sleep onto the mattress instead of his baby cot. We realised from the week that I was away that the reason he wakes up in the night may not be hunger. But lack of space. Over in grandma's home, he slept on the mattress which gave him ample space to make his many circumferences round. So far, I think we had hit bulls' eyes. Will observe and see more. Here he is, getting ready for bed on the mattress. Still, next to us :)

Pre-christmas events

We are into this festive mood these dys. Not sure why the happy feeling but we are glad to have this happy feeling in all of us. Here, we are trying to build our home into more Merry Christmas spirit. To start off, we even got Ames dressed up as if he was in some cold place. Of course, Ames was also the biggest beneficiary of my loot in my recent trip.
Here is the boy trying to help or create a mess for us? Just got this sandals from the bulk purchase from the forum.

This is the reindeer that we got sometime ago. Ames showed limited interest in the deer except the bell that is around the neck. Maybe he know this is the forbidden item to go close at home.

Here's my two lovely presents by the christmas tree in Takashimaya. As always, I think they look alike. Do you share the same feeling?
