8 months old Ames !!!!

Ames is 8 months old!

Everyday this week is full of new activity. During the long weekend, Ames started to crawl like swiming breaststroke style. And yesterday, he started to crawl on all fours. Since he is getting so active, we also decide to let his senses get active :)

After discussion with some mummies on eating habits tips, I bought the Pigeon bites for Ames to sample. It is like the "wan wan" that melts in the mouth. So it's pretty safe for babies to start food experience.

Mummy bag is getting more important now. Because we need the little treats for the kids. Tricks or treat?

"No No No No...Stop it Ames!"

I have never mentioned so many Nos before in my life before today. Baby language has turned to becoming "No, Stop, Ames, Hold on and I'm going to beat you!"
From this morning til now, I can find myself screaming "no" at almost every hour. This little kid has got my hands so busy today.
Went to the kitchen and pulled down the laundry, almost pulled the fan plug, crawled to the TV console station and wanted to stand up.
Actually every minute that he is awake seemed like a mischief is up somewhere.

Instead of sitting properly in walker, he prefer to be the wheels for walker. And the shouting continues, " No Ames. No, Stop it..."
Now he is pulling out the drawers....

Excuse me Daddy

Now we managed to be able to upload videos, I guess it will be more fun for the friends and relatives whom are the readers of this blog to get even more excited with Ames progress. Of cos, and the rest of the family members. Stay tuned for more videos and pictures of Ames. Provided I can quickly capture more moments as this guy is now crawling fast.
Here's one of my favourite video with Daddy in family restuarant, MacDonalds always.

It seemed like Ames has lots to tell Daddy whom is too busy eating. I liked it when Ames kept tugging the sleeves of Daddy's shirt. And where is Mummy?

Playtime - Swing

Got this swing from collegue, Jasmine who is moving home. Was initially wondering if Ames still too young for such play, I guess my instinct has proven wrong this time. Kids will always find ways to accomodate play. Now there's indoor playground for everyone.

24hrs different character

Remember yesterday when I mentioned in my blog that the 2 guys in the household were deep asleep even though they should be excited like me because of the LOooong weeeknd. Today we have a very early riser, AMES.
I though a milk feed at 6.40am will do the trick. Will get him to go for another sleep before the start of the day. But he is not going to bed. Instead Ames is getting adventurous around his bed.
First, he found the nob that helps to adjust the height of the cot crib. He was trying to turn out the nob too!

Can never comprehend the thoughts of children. Sigh....

That's why the word called, "baby proofing" comes about.

Newborn Ames

I cannot help but always look back on the early pictures of Baby Ames. The early beginning pictures are the most tender looking. Like this one, Ames woke up after a good rest and had fed well. We were resting together in the bedroom trying to recongise each other. Well, at this stage the baby is very fragile especially with the neck. We are always constant lookout for his reflux in case of choking. Though it is the most tiring period to look after the newborn with milk expression and regularly feeds, it is the sweetest moments for me. Welcome to motherhood.

piano sessions

Ames always in the first class seat to enjoy the lessons. 3 mths plus old.

Day out in VivoCity

I am never a support of Vivo City. But now, my family has changed our mind about this megamall. There's lots of shops that entertained both daddy and mummy especially Daiso. Well for Ames, I think he will like the skyroof playground when he is older. For now, we give thumbs-up for VivoCity. If you don't like the crowd, can also drop by to HarbourFront where the crowd is smaller and easier to find seats.
Today's also Daddy 1st time feeding him. Can give Daddy good marks as Ames diligently assist him by being a good eater. For outdoor meals, Happy Bellies will do the trick.

This week, we are also teaching Ames to use the beaker cup with a sprout. This will help in his motor skills and develop his cognitive skills. At least he know he has to til/inhale before the water can fill him. I suppose it is a very messy wet situation now. Anyway, kids should always have a spare set of clothes for standby.

morning mischief

Luckily I did had some quite moments for myself before the mischievous mouse is awake.
You can see the the fast crawler has now embarked his journey onto the furnitures in the house.

I simply love babies in their birthday suits. Find these shots very natural and see the full character in the eyes.

The long weekend

I woke up this morning feeling excited as it's the LOooooong weekend.
The funny thing is, somehow the other 2 guys in the household also know it's the LOooong weekend.
Ames cried for a feed at about 6am, and I thought he may be ready like me to enjoy this Saurday. But now, even 8.16am, he is still in his LOoong weekend sleeep.
Maybe I should treat myself to a nice cuppa before they wake up.

7 mth 3rd week - 4th week

This week has been a surprise week with Ames.
It is like surprises after surprises event.
1) Learnt to front crawl :)
2) Able to go back to sitting position by himself after laying flat on floor
3) Learning to stand with hands touching sofa to give balance
4) Screammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmming at top of voice (must I emphasis more??)
5) Have a toothie!

Show me more, next week.

Mickey and me

No nudity on public forum.
But this should be acceptable, with Mickey with me.
Do you recall this Mickey, Gu-ma Winnie?

Ames has a growing tooth

Ames has a tooth! I am really excited.

Mummy, I mean grandma was asking if he has started teething. As usual, my reply is, "I don't know. How to find out?"And the next moment, "You say you helped to wipe his mouth to clean, yet you didnt notice? His little pearly white is here."
The 3 ladies, grandma, Charmaine and myself were so hysterical when we saw the little toothie. Today is a proud day for me. Now, I can use "My first Toothpaste - Banana flavor"
I can't post any picture of the tooth because he is not letting me take a picture.

table manners

Table Manners
Peaceful meal times are now history. I can hardly recall a peaceful meal with the family for quite a while. Eversince Ames has started solids diet, his demands are more aggressive compared to a pregnant mum.

Good thing is that I have a group of mothers whom we always discuss and share knowledge.

One good tip I just learnt is to bring a lunch box for Ames when we are out for dinners. While we are enjoying our food, he will have his cookie to munch. Hence we are all being entertained with food :)

"Do not open my cookie box."

standing tall

Our dear friend has decided to skip the crawling stage and moved to standing tall stage.
Here is he, trying to keep upright and reach for the impossible.
Maybe he is part of the generation where, impossible is possible.
well, i am not a strong advocacy to follow the rules of life, as long as he is enjoying himself at a good pace, i am also happy.

Because of his growing needs, we have already upsize his play area to our coffee area. Now the coffee table is tucked away in a corner. Not sure when is the resurrection day, but definitely not soon to come.

Tigger, my new friend

To have a good night sleep is very important.

First of all, we must feel secure and comfortable hence able to have a good rest and a long sleep without interruptions.

Mumy introduced me to Tigger, who is very cuddly, soft and light! Because of his lightweight build, I am able to carry him about and snuggle in tight with "him/her?". His size is nice for me to hug, bring close to my face and also swing around to get attention. Well, instead of growling noises that tigers usually make, Tigger only sound " PoooP PoooP PoooP". hahhah....

I am certainly not afraid of waking up and seeing a tiger face as in the middle of the night, Tigger will be at the foot of the bed. I only wake up seeing a well rested mummy's face.

Nothing beats my 2 fingers in my mouth...

Any advice for the sucking habit? Ames is an addict to his right 2nd and 3rd finger.

new toys - Exersaucer

The jumperoo has returned back to its owner and mummy managed to borrow another new toy from Aarron koko, Exersaucer. This is very interesting toy as I am cooped inside this circle and 360 degrees circumference, I am entertained with music, sounds and stories. This is the1st picture of me in this big stuff. I was afraid as "what is this??" mood.
I can be the Next Baby Idol as there is a microphone for me to croon sexy jazz.. or read a book aloud ...or be the next Zouk spin with the disc.
Multi-talented saucer for me.

Rating: 4 stars

New toy

Bringing the house down.
Lazy sunday morning once again.
Ames is exploring on his own in the house when he found a new toy.
CURTAINS!

Instead of getting angry and getting Ames to stop, I brought out camera to snap these moments. Children ought to be able to express, play and be what they are can. Few more years down the road, children will have to learn to live regimental lifestyle. For now I think, I can still let him be the Ames he want.
