Better than milk

Glad I am over bf Ames for a long time. It was a good time doing the bf and also a very good time not doing bf. Well, even mothers just too greddy and want best of best worlds yet still the controversial creatures. Maybe that whats women women.

Anyway, demand for milk has decrease rapidly maybe due to the heavier intake of solids and snacks. I think Ames has a big appetitie for most stuff. Loveletters are like his hardcore snacks in the pm at grandparents' place. I heard that he can finish one on his own and refused to share. That brings me to another learning session, "when and how to teach him to share?" Maybe I should show by an example first...my first yakult with Ames

I was caught drinking my Yakult today by him. Imagine me without freedom and even a kid is watching my food. He demanded high and low for the bottle that I was holding. Even though Yakult is a terribly small sized bottle. Someone must have let him taste this nice stuff....hmmmm
To stop the long cries and sticking to me with all the saliva and tears, I relented with the empty bottle. And you can see smiles and enjoyment written all over his face :) even though the drink is in my stomach already.

10.5kg @ 12 mths

I am now the bad guy in the family. Who will not be if you are sleep deprived, mess driven to the wall and always catching someone in crime? Crime buster, I would name myself. Ames has more strength to move about. I am suspecting to see if these 2 weeks I may have to run away a pair of walking egs as opposed to a pair of crawlers.

He is like the lizard in the house. Crawls around in lightning speed and just like a giraffe neck that peers over the table top. In fact, he is more familar with the kitchen as compared to me. His favourite drawer is the spoons and stirrers which he will always pull out and throw everything on the floor. I am so tired of the constant washing that now, a drawer is dedicated for his stuff. Lest, is a child friendly drawer without the can openers, wine openers or even sissors.
To make me a more happy person, I have official time off seasons :) which makes me look forward to every Monday or Tuesday nights. Here's the creative dad babysitting his son..with the help of IBM....
Of course, I have to playthe bad guy by refusing and picking Ames up each time he attempt the stairs in his room. Maybe now is child proofing the place...had passed the baby proof stage already.

This is getting more dangerous by the day. More contingency plans to be well planned ahead of diaster. Think 1st Aid box is utmost crucial for this 1 year :)

Face the wall

I have no idea where he picked the idea of having the toy in his lips. This little boy is sure having fun with his new method of play. Kids are just so imaginative with their play styles. Will just let this young fella explore in his own.

Temper has been getting shorter as Ames is growing bigger.
This weekend favourite and most shouted phrase: Face the Wall! No No No.
The little boy struggled out of feeding chair, stand on top of the chair and also so clingy to us that we decided to deposit him over to the grands' for the Saturday night.
Now I can understand why I was given the advice to enjoy the early newborn days. Those days were great, not that now is not great, but now is MORE ENERGY!
To assist Ames' motor skills, we have been trying to walk with him. And the objectives of us parents walking with him was to tired him out so that we can also rest.
Here's Ames resting out of the area. Getting too big for the pram.
Good thing that the mummy bag has been reduced to this cute Mickey bagpack. Even Ames can be a little helper now.

Looking innocent but lots of ideas in mind. To plan the escape route.

Trying to escape out of his chair.

Both kids behaved very well during the weekend wedding ceremony we attended. More social events will be good for the kids to learn and behave.

February Ames

This month is going to be an exciting month for the little boy. His birthday! Now he is rightfully 11 months and 3 weeks old. Pretty fast if I looked back at the calender. Needless to say, he is just as he was in the womb, enjoying food. Last year, he feasted on Chinese New Year, romantic Valentine's dinner and also grandpa's big birthday party. This year, he enjoys the Yu Sheng, love letters, egg tarts and also latest mummy's yoghurt. What food has he not rejected? Beats me...

Now this little boy can climb up and down the chairs in the home. Like an adult enjoying his rest time.. but note for the eagle-eyed caretakers whom still constantly keep vigil for just in case.

Playdates are also very informative to me. Here we are in Aaron's home. I learnt that I got to let Ames drink his milk on his own now. Though it will be a messy task, Ames need to develop his own bottle so to give me some freedom. Except the cleaning up of the spillage. This letting him to hold his own bottle is still something I am struggling with.

Maybe the influence of the daily piano sessions in grandma's place makes Ames very excited when he saw the piano at this height. He was so keen to show a few pieces.

Ames is loving the motion of crawling. The dining table has become his obstacle course in the household. Quite sturdy boy, I would grade him. He will not give up finishing the job despite hitting on the bumps at the side.

Screaming at top of the vocal chords. Initially remember his voice? Low and very low type...but the screams are like sopranos in pitch! Like right now, he is still shouting for the past 3 mins. We need some peace very much. :)

CNY Playdate

We had a playdate recently for many babies.
As usual, it is never easy to take pictures of babies, let alone 3 young babies together.
Nonetheless, the parents are the more co-operative folks.

And this is special Kai, specially flown in from Shanghai for CNY. Baby Kai and Mummy Danelle
Checklist for Ames:

1. Crawl very fast

2. Climb down the bed on his own

3. Likes to turn off the television
4. Screams at top of his voice
5. Refuse to get out of bath tub
And this is the most tiring phase of his growth. My back is aching to chase after him in the household.
