the third person in the house

There is a third person in the household. U can feel the presence and most obvious, you even see the mess that he leaves behind. All evidence against him. And its aCCumuLaTing!
And now he likes to help with the general cleaning department. Will let him do posting soon.
How come there is a empty cup? And is not even a proper cup. Whose work can that be? The third person in the household?

Ames is very straight. Likes to check out especially all the pretty gals walking on the street. His eyes will just go zoom and turn around to the pretty stuff. You have a long way to go.

His first taste of Coke....

I hope he prefers drinking water than coke..for the time being.

Fun times

Glow in the dark Tee (it really GLOWS) When Ames was running a fever for 2 days. Lost all his smiles. Kids are just so adorable at all times.

My kitchen helper.
Training him to be a jockey :)

random shots

Been very unsuccessful trying to upload the pictures recently. Not that mom's taking a break, just that sometimes quite pressed for time. No longer enjoys the luxury of surfing the Net without disturbances. Ames like to sneak around the working area and explore with the items on table. Plus all the wires that are dangling from the laptop, the wires just amuse him.

And in additional, he has the strength now to even turn off the power plug. Which angers me more. Especially when on the Net downloading and he just nonchalant about it.
All green in spring for him.
Young kids should be taught not to waste food but of course, with little table manners will help a great deal.

Packing Ames for the weekend? Its just dirty laundry for washing. How we wish we can go for a trip soon :)

Aden, coming 5 months , Ames coming 14 months

So sweet for this shot!

Little Helper

Random shots and behaviour:
This is Ames at 13 months and 3 weeks. Previously, he could only amount to 5 steps of walking. Now, he is a runner. He trods around the home and bumps onto the wall. Many times, he will have mini accidents such as tripping over his toys (who else can he blame), too sharp turn at corners (what is the big rush) and little falls. Nonetheless, its always an encouragement to tell him to "Try Again, Don't cry. Stand up". I hope this childhood motto will last him long.
Here's the little Electrolux boy. :) Quite a big help! At least, he is not following behind the machine.
Can't wait for a family holidays together. I will not do it now, as it will be not enjoyable for us. Grandparents bound to call daily and also disrupt Ames' schedule. Boy, hang on for few more years. Soon...

He's eating off the plate too. Will not attempt for any fine dining restaurants now. Swensons and Jack's place will be good enough for the noise the little one is creating at mealtimes.

I cannot imagine so soon that Ames will be looking back at me and say, "I'm off to school". That will happen, very soon, right?

My little greenie fella. Green shirt, Green shoes and green shopping bag!

random shots

Leaving home in the morning to caregivers' home is always a breeze. Ames knows every morning that once he's in the pram, see his grandparents. Will co-operate and fit into the carseat as a very willing arty. But not when the end of the day when I reached to pick him home. He will always kick a big fuss, cry and wail loudly. Toss and turn in his car seat that is beyond for the seat belts to hold him. He will always look out for gong gong for his bailout from the car seat! Sly fella. The quiet corner. Not sure what are the two kids thinking, but they really can keep entertained for sometime on the beaded curtains.
Small accident! Someone accidentally stepped onto Ames' right fingers. Boo hoo.... After he fell from his walk. Poor boy!

But he's a good boy. Recover fast to give a smile for the camera :)

Cousin Bryan, one month olderthan Ames. 1 simlilarity...both still have alot more to grow onto of the head :)

my playmates

Ames trying very hard to fit in to play with his cousins. But you can see that the young kids now are communicating with gadgets more than interpersonal relationships. Young boy, you will be like them one day too.
Still being ignored by the cousins...... Fortunately, he has his canned drink to keep him accompany and looked cool....

Finally, he decided to venture on his own to the world of nature and science.

Understanding that being ignored is fine. There's always other entertainments around .....

Busy weekend - April 2009

Family wedding party!
Weddings are always a romantic event to me. Especially when there's church wedding, I think it is really really very nice. Ames was co-operative to get up early in the morning to rush over to the bride's home to experience the love spirit that was high in the house. When he saw the bride, he decided to show his temper by falling flat to the ground and started a tantrum. Maybe he was angry that he's not going to be the very important person on that day. Nonetheless, little snacks always do the trick of pacifying him. So up he was again with smiles across the face as he navigated around the new venue. But for no reasons, soon he was on the floor again. To ask for more snacks....
At the church wedding, I did remind Ames to bring along behaviour. And glad he did brought along for 2 hours. After that, we had to embarassingly excuse ourselves from the quiet sermon.

I always like sepia photographs especially in church. Here was Ames meeting the first girl that walked along the aisle. She was the flower girl for the bride.
Sometimes in life, we will meet love and also allow love to go by.

And if love did went by, just let it go. As the next one may come along again. (Am I being bad to teach this to him at such young age?)
Here we donned him into this chinese mandarin colour suit :) He looked like a gong fu master more like it. Little cheeky guy is always up to mischief. In the pram is cousin Kerzon catching up with power nap. Our dear little Ames is sneaking quietly trying some michief.

How would you describe this face? What can Ames be possibly thinking of? Screaming to wake up the sleeping boy OR acting like a big adult that is supervising?

Oh, he is just trying to whisper a small hi to Kerzone.

13 months! Over 1 year old

How often should I mentioned that time flies so fast. Imagined that one year ago, I may not have the privilege of taking pictures and let alone bloggint o share them. Cos I will be too busy with breastfeeding and also doing the confinment. Well, we have all moved on and now we are busy running after an active kid!
Ames started walking about 5 steps during his birthday week. And since I was awayfor a couple of days and now, this week, I have a runner boy. No more crawling as it offers no view for mischief. Now he likes to walk and peer over short cabinets. I am so surprised when he flipped his body over the drawer to peep "what lies next?" Over in grandma's place for the social stay whilst I was away for work. He really loves to hangout at grandparents' places.

One of the trick he will amuse himself. Turning on and off the video player. And boy! We have a trick to this. Asther got us a tape/ show that will attracts Ames at least 30 mins glued to the telly. Any mummies, I will glad to share with you. Cos you can have a nice shower while the kid self-entertained with the show. Best collector item for me!

Sneaky look to sneak around in the house.

Going to harass the other small people in the house.

Hasn't been taught to read. But likes to flip the book. Look, its also upside down... oops

Just loves the books flipping.

At least a decent family picture with Ames. Check out the crab tee he was wearing. We were in Jumbo, that explains for the tee :)
Checklist (of what he can eat)
1. Learnt to suck up the straw (Dad's the teacher and the experiment guy)
2. 1st taste of durians (Grandma is the ring leader)
3. Finished a siew mai on his own (grandparents the foodies)
4. Likes to drink bird nest (Grandma looking for new recruits)
5. Likes to drink horrible liang tea (Grandma...again)
See...at this stage, I can say grandma is the ring leader.... Grandparents are going to be his big part of his childhood now. Even if dad is not going to be happy, he just as to grit this teeth cos grandparents OVER RULE...
