Get ready for discharge! Yipee!

"so handsome boy now! Ready for discharge tomorrow :)!"

And that's the verdict. An the tradeoff? Pictures of Ames with the red eyes, rashes and of course, the smiley boy for her teaching purposes. Boy, Ames going to appear in NUS lecture hall...

Left 2 hrs endurance for the I/V

high spirits Ames

This morning, 26th May 2009 after first night @ TMC. Fortunately Ames slept thru with one time milk feed @ 5am. Quite a painful sight to see him all with tubes. Do you know he need to have 2 nurses and 1 dr to restraint him down during the fix up?
Ames, the big Bully, as notable by the nurses.

Check out the tiny red spots. Thank God it has been faded. It was red and in patches earlier. Will upload those in my HP soon.

Don't you love to give him a hug too?

Kawasaki

Baby Ames is seriously ill.

Got to do a real time update of the baby status since not the Orange alert is restricting visitors to see him. Ames is now in TMC hospitalised for Kawasaki dieases. Origin is still unknown but fortunately there's medicine for the suppression of the fever and the dieases itself.

Some pictures of Ames displaying signs and symptons:
fever
rash
swollen hands and feet
irritation and redness of the whites of the eyes
swollen lymph glands in the neck
irritation and inflammation of the mouth, lips and throat

Fortunately Drs in Singapore are really the top-notched in the region. Once sighted the signs, he was immediately admited and set on the drip. Imagine that Ames has to have the drip I/V for 24hrs. Nevertheless, his smilely spirits still cheer us to be for him.

ames at mummy's workplace

Brought Ames to my workplace to show him where he gets his milk and his diaper changes. This is the place that bring the bacon home for him. Was initially a very good boy who kept the rules and stayed within room. But not when half hour time that he got too cosy, decided to explore the rest of the office. I ended up spending time chasing him and work still left undone. Not a good try-out. Now got to pray for more time...

Labour Day

Labour day ain't exactly a day where I can easily rest my feets up and laze whole day. Though its a public holiday, the role of a mom never stops. And to add on, Ames fell ill too.
I have this fear, especially the nights when fever hit on the kid. You know, the darkness and the quietness of the night is already quite a fear. And to add on to a crying and unknown will add to the anxiety attacks.

Ames' feets and hands were very warm. And the scorching forehead made it even worse. It read 38.8 on the thermometer. I had to sponge Ames and also stand his uneasiness cries. He rolled over and over the bed, climbed the bed up and down, cried when carried, pushed away when carried. All these events took place at 3am! Just have to tell myelf to bite tight and things would get better. I wasn't good at this nurse role but I got to DO IT!

Thankfully, we always have the support of family. Coming from a big family background helps. There's always grandparents, aunties and many help to distribute the anxiety. When Ames is too hard for me to handly solely, I can share the difficult times with the other participants in this family chain :) At least I don't get too stress or suffer a nerve breaking moments on my own.

Now as he lies on the bed to rest for speedy recovery, I think this sick period allows Ames to understand and feel love from his family. Oh yes, to add to it, Ames had a skin tear on his little right big toe. The door accidentally rolled on his little big toe. But he was using that little redness to tell everyone that he is in pain always to get sympathy. Little boy asking for sympathy? Can you imagine his big eyes and pouting lips to show "pain pain"?

Showing his "pain pain" toe...??
